When I was young I cringed every single time a school teacher would try and pronounce my Chinese name. I would brace myself for the inevitable butchering and interject as soon as I could with, “oh I go by Dasha”… As the years went by, I learned to just embrace it and it kinda became a low key unique flex lol.
But this week I touched a new appreciation for my name. Yu Xin (宇新) stands for universal one new man.
Abolishing in His flesh the law of the commandments in ordinances, that He might create the two in Himself into one new man, so making peace, Ephesians 2:15
These past two weeks, we have been in the Body Of Christ class and lol to be completely honest, it was the most humbling butt kick. This matter is SO DEEP. I feel like I’ve just barely started to scratch the surface and could probably use the entirety of these next two years continually diving into what is the Body of Christ…
But I really enjoyed this 2nd creation this week. Did you realize that as Christ was hanging on the cross, He was creating?? Christ created the one new man —the church—the Body of Christ— by working God’s divine nature into humanity. The working of the divine nature into humanity was something new, hence, it was a creating. In this new creation, Christ is not only the Creator but also the very sphere and element of the new man!
Meaning, the new man is simply Christ. The nature is Christ. In the new man, Christ is all and in all. Christ is the church and the church is Christ, because everything in the new man- the church- is simply Christ.
God does not want us to be good on an individual basis. God does not want to see Christians scattered like a pan of sand! He wants Christians to be joined together to become a corporate new man. The enlargement and expression of Christ. He is after a corporate vessel that will destroy Satan and accomplish His plan. This is the church— the Body of Christ.
And He subjected all things under His feet and gave Him to be Head over all things to the church, Which is His Body, the fullness of the One who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:22-23
There is no way to live the Christian life apart from the Body. Actually in genuine spirituality, there is the care for the Body.
If you want genuine spirituality, we need to realize that we are NEEDY people. We need one another.
God has a purpose to His salvation- His Body, not separate and complete individual units, but parts of a living, functioning, coordinated, corporate whole. We need to enter into this realization and understanding of the goal of God’s salvation- if we don’t we will miss the mark! And will be left to just try to be strong individual Christians.
Your faith in Christ helps me pursue;
My progress depends upon you!
As I seek Christ, with you in view,
My heart, full of prayers, is for you.
I realized afresh that Satan REALLY hates us seeing this. Because this week, more than ever before, it just seemed like left & right we were offending/getting offended by one another… especially right after experiencing a great victory or supply of the Lord! So many times there was the temptation to fall into the enemy’s trap to land in division and have our enjoyment robbed. But I just want to joyful testify:
We were not put to shame!
I experienced the sweetest most transcendent and self-stopping corporate prayers.
Real oneness is actually just our living touch of the Lord. And the one accord (which is when the Lord can really pour out His blessing upon us) is simply the outward expression of that living touch. Praise Him.
Never let the lies deceive you;
Christ has shut the serpent's mouth;
Claim the fact that we have seen him
In the lake of fire now.
A Final Golden Nugget
We had some visiting trainers from the FTTA come and visit us this week and I was most impressed with this point one shared:
the Christian life is a life of loving His appearing.
In a more practical, specific, and clear way… this means just to bring Him in.
Bring Him into the object status of the eyes of your heart. As the definition for how you live…
This is the training within the Training: finding Him in everything.
(I find this amazing b/c it was shared by a bro who has the most INTENSE eyes I have ever seen. He looks at you with such kindness & sweetness but also purposefulness & focus, you feel like your whole being is being seen… we need to learn to look at the Lord like that 😉)
O let my heart long to be raptured to Thee;
My only hope here is Thy coming again,
My only joy there, Lord, Thy presence will be.
Lord, teach me each day in Thy presence to live,
From morning to evening my one world Thou art;
Love,
Dasha
sorry I didn’t realize I was so busy this week I literally only have this one new picture… enjoy lol.
